Foreign Language Tuition

Whether your language course takes place at our Language Centre or at your premises, we will design a course that will give you practical language that is tailored to your requirements.

Our courses are carefully planned and are based on:

• an assessment of your present level, which is measured against the National Language Standards
• a discussion of your target level and the skill areas that you need to focus on
• an analysis of your objectives and specific requirements
• a learning styles test of your preferred learning style

The courses:

Intensive

Intensive courses normally take place at our Language Centre where learners can take advantage of our custom built facilities. Designed for people with an urgent requirement to accelerate progress, or as an intensive boost at the beginning of a longer term learning programme. You can be immersed in the language for 30-40 hours per week.

For 1-1 or small "closed company" groups.

Semi-intensive

Can take place at our Language Centre or at your premises. Semi-intensive courses are flexible on-going programmes that fit in with your work schedule. Tuition can be taken in blocks of "days" or "half days" until you have reached your target level.

For 1-1 or small "closed company" groups.

In-company tuition

Our team of tutors can visit your premises for regular in-company tuition. This can be for small groups who meet regularly at lunchtimes or on a 1-1 basis at flexible times. We can set up in-company language learning programmes with clear procedures for enrolment, assessment, setting targets, reporting and administration of the courses.

For 1-1 or in company groups.

Private language courses at our Language Centre

We are happy to organise courses at our school for individuals, husbands and wives, or small groups of friends, who want to learn a language for social, leisure or holiday purposes and require a professional and quality programme.

For 1-1 or private groups.

Business skills courses

For training in specialist skills such as coaching for a presentation, negotiation skills, meetings, interviews, welcoming and entertaining overseas visitors.

For 1-1 and "closed company" groups.

Distance learning

Individually tailored programmes using telephone and internet technology. Distance learning can be used in many ways including the support of a longer-term language learning programme.

Language audits and assessments

Language audits provide companies with a greater knowledge of the current levels of language skills within their workforce. Such information can be helpful when deciding training budgets or recruitment requirements. We can carry out language assessments in most major languages.

Tutors

Our tutors are all qualified and highly motivated.
All are experienced in teaching languages within a business context.
Teaching methods are adapted to suit individual learning styles.

Monitoring and reporting

Progress is constantly monitored and reviewed on all individual and corporate language training programmes. This enables us to make any necessary changes to the programme and to recommend examinations where appropriate.

Nationally recognised qualifications

Examinations provide a good focus and an excellent way of measuring progress and achievement. Corinium Language Associates is a recognised Examinations Centre for several examining boards. We can organise examinations at our school, at your premises or at any convenient location.
